Joel was born and bred in the rust belt city of buffalo, ny where he used the long winters to submerge himself in music, comics, skateboarding and barely making rent. His sketchbooks were escapism.

After earning a bfa at buffalo state college he began to do artwork for his and other local bands. This led him to becoming the art director for THE PUNK uprisings tv show and making illustrations for music publications such as maximum rock n roll, punk planet and jersey beat to name a few.

joel’s love affair with art in music culture eventually led him to becoming a tattoo artist. He co-owns a tattoo shop called stay weird tattoo.

His work is IMMERSED in street art, comic books, lowbrow and pop-surrealist art.
